In a rough economy, with people losing their jobs, their homes, basically their security, they are starting over. Here at Work From Home Jobs, we’re dedicated to not only helping you find legitimate work from home business opportunties, but spotlighting specific jobs and companies as well.
I’ve been doing some perusing online and found some great mom’s blogs and of course a great work from home position. A friend on Moms Like Me gave me the heads up about a Google job, Ads Quality Rater position.
The job does not require that you have any specific experience with computers or advertising. This position would utilize online tools to review and rate advertising related data. I’ve been told the hiring process can be a bit lengthy, as you have to pass a series of screenings, but it sounds like a great opportunity.
If you’ve found a particular company or opportunity you are interested in or would like for us to review, just leave the information in our comments section. The more information you have, the more successful your search will be.

Possible work from home business opportunities can vary depending on the person, the skills, interest, availibility and more. The options can range from teaching music lessons to catering to even grooming pets. Do a personal inventory to determine what your strengths and weaknesses are, what kind of schedule you are looking for and even what kind of people you want to look for. No preference should be overlooked.
Joy Chudcacoff of Smart Women wrote an interesting article titled Smart Women Make Great Choices . She gives brief insight into how some of us have great difficulty making choices of any kind. It’s really okay to take time when making decisions, especially critical ones. Doing a self-inventory and making a pros and cons list should be helpful if you’re having trouble nailing down a niche to pursue. I would also recommend talking with others who are doing the job you are considering pursuing.
Make an educated choice you can live with, at least temporarily. Remember, it’s just a job, so if you change your mind at some point, it’s your business and you have the flexbility to do that. But being passionate about what you get up and do every day is truly priceless. So, get get started on that list, change is just around the corner.

The idea of working from the couch is very appealing to most people. Increased flexibility and lack of a commute are just some of the many perks to a work at home job. As an owner of a small business, you may be thinking about hiring a few employees to work from home for you. This is a great idea but there are some things to take into consideration when hiring someone.
As one woman wrote in her blog, there are several red flags that can alert you when a particular individual is not suited for the job. It is a good idea to make a list of your expectations and only hire those who meet your criteria of a stellar employee. Expectations such as returning phone calls and being prepared for an interview are simple ways to “weed out” some applicants.
Although working from home sounds like a good idea, not everyone has the motivation to stay on task and be productive. There are far more distractions at home, such as dishes and laundry, than there are in an office. If an employee lacks motivation then your business will suffer. Finding an accountability system that works for your employees and yourself is one way to safeguard against procrastination.
Work from home businesses can benefit greatly from having a team of people working for the business rather than just one individual. By taking simple precautions and hiring hard working, honest people, your business will have the ability to be even more successful than you could have imagined.

I would like to to address some of the specific questions I’ve received regarding distinctive ideas for work from home businesses. You can find all of these ideas as well in Starting an Online Business for Dummies by Greg Holden. I will address a new idea each day for the next 10 days add helpful sites, useful examples and expand on these ideas using my own experience and expertise.
A challenging way to make money online, but lucrative if you can accumulate a committed following is to start a blog. Blogging originally started off as a way for one person or unit to stay connected with a larger group. At one time, you mostly found blogs that provided family photos and updates intended for close family and friends, but now you can find a blog on practically any topic that provides its readers with useful and legitimate content. And yes, some bloggers get paid. A site that has a considerable following is shoemoney.com.
A few things to consider when starting a blog are Do you like to write? Can you offer useable content? Can you commit to offering useable content daily? And do you have the means to wait and watch your blog grow in popularity until you have a steady following?
Most importantly, identify what your passion is or can become and find a niche to fill. Considering that 175,000 blogs are created every day, a figure published by CNETnews.com, blogs are obviously in demand, but it will take considerable commitment (and some people skills) to be successful at it.

My life has changed so much over the past year, ever since I started my work from home internet business opportunity. We used to struggle to pay for the extras-dance lessons for my daughter, eating out occasionally, and the rare home repairs. Now that my family doesn’t pay for the cost of commuting or daycare expenses and I can work from home, we can afford the extras.
You may think it’s costly to start and run your own business, but it’s really quite affordable depending on what you choose to pursue. If you are selling items on e-bay and require a constant stock of items you may have to spend some money to make some money, but most work can be don online and require no money out of pocket.
You can choose to pursue an existing hobby of yours such as photography, web design or scrapbooking or you may want to try something new to you, such as transcription work, data entry or writing.
There’s no end to how many vocations you can pursue, the hard part is deciding which one is best for you.

I was just reminiscing this morning about my old routine. I would get up around 5:00-yes, a.m. I would pack lunches, sometimes even make some preparations for dinner that evening, get the kids up and ready and then be out the door by 7:00. This was our dull yet chaotic routine each day.
Much has changed for our family but some things haven’t changed. Our lives are much calmer and more enjoyable now. My house is still overrun by toys and pets and I’m okay with that. And I am still working, but I work at my own pace and in my own time and of course at home.
If you want to start making money online, now is the time to get going! You can have your dream job!

Many people seem to be wary of work from home opportunities…they have read about the “get rich” schemes or seen too many late-night infomercials that promise wealth without the work. They are right to be concerned.
At the same time, legitimate work from home opportunities do exist; otherwise, why would so many people be reaching their goals by working from home. In his recent book, “The Next MIllionaires, author Paul Pilzer comments that half of the gross domestic product comes from small business and that half of small business is operated from the home. So, something must be working.
How do you ascertain whether an opportunity is legitimate?
Here’s a quick list:
1. What’s the published track record of the company? Yes, you can check online, but be careful of who and what you listen to. Get verifiable and reputable data.
2. Who are some individuals associated with the opportunity with whom you can talk. Go right to the source.
3. Does the opportunity make good business sense? Use your judgment here.
4. How much initial investment is required? Does it seem right?
5. What are the ongoing investment requirements?
6. How much time is required?
7. How will you be compensated? Can you verify the data used to determine your compensation?
8. Who owns the compensation plan? Remember that whoever owns the compensation plan can change it. If this happens, are you protected?
9. Does the opportunity require you to learn a skill that you can presume you can acquire? In other words, are you a square peg that will need to fit into a round hole?
10. Is the training system “proven?” How difficult will it be to learn?
There are a number of other factors, but this should get you started in your evaluation.
